Insecta was founded by women, and their stores in Brazil are mostly run by them as well. They make vegan and ecological shoes and other footwear. None of their products are made with animals. For example, genuine leather makes use of animals. Insecta does not believe in doing this, nor do they believe in using animal testing.
The company is also into the environment. They do not believe in depleting resources. They have come up with a unique way of making their shoes. They make use of recycled material like cotton, plastic and rubber. They also use vintage clothing to make attractive, eye catching footwear, so there is no waste and this leaves less of a carbon footprint.
2Certifications
Insecta is a certified B Corporation. A certified B company is required to think about the impact their decisions will have on suppliers, the community, customers, their workers and the environment. This also means that legally, Insecta have an obligation to operate with very high standards. Insecta became the first Brazilian footwear company to achieve this certification.
Insecta is also a EuReciclo-certified company. This Brazilian certification means that Insecta is a company that is committed to recycling.

Insecta was given the Best Brand Award by VOGUE in 2015. That same year saw them awarded most talented new designer by PETA Vegan Fashion Awards. In 2017, Insecta was awarded Best Companies for the World by B Corporation.
